The Correr Museum is laid out in various sections that offer a fascinating insight into the art and history of Venice.

Then, visitors pass into the Procuratie Nuove, designed by the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi (1552-1616), which once housed some of the most important civic authorities of the Republic of Venice. The spacious rooms now houses collections that document various aspects of Venetian History, from daily life to public instutions, from naval achievements to local festivities.

Between the first and second floors, several Rooms are dedicated to ancient art collections: from the small Veneto bronzes from the Renaissance to the splendid Picture Gallery, housing a rich art collection, covering the period from the very earliest days of Venetian painting up to the 16th century, with many of the artworks being incomparable masterpieces. Among them, we find works by Lorenzo Veneziano, the Bellini family, Carpaccio, Cosmè Tura, Antonello da Messina, and Lorenzo Lotto, masterly set up by Carlo Scarpa. Works in ivory and a collection of Renaissance Italian ceramics are also noteworthy.
