Salone da Ballo Museo Correr

Google Arts & Culture

Thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia and the Google Cultural Institute, Museo Correr is part of Google Arts & Culture: an online platform through which the public around the world can access high-resolution images of works of art in the collections of museums partners in the initiative, with the goal of democratizing access to culture and to promote its preservation for future generations.

For Museo Correr are uploaded 76 high resolution images of some of the most representative works of the collection and the museum display. These include masterpieces as The Portrait of the Doge Mocenigo by Gentile Bellini, The two Venetian Ladies by Vittore Carpaccio, the Pietà by Antonello da Messina, Madonna and Child by Giovanni Bellini, the beautiful Perspective view of Venice by Jacopo de Barbari and the two Canova’s statues of Orpheus and Eurydice that decorate the spectacular Grand Ballroom.

Some of the works from the Museo Correr collection have also been included in other projects developed by Google, such as Venice Street View and Grand Tour d’Italia, recently launched online, which features the museums of Ca’ Rezzonico and the Museo Correr as protagonists of the digital exhibition The Secret of Canaletto.
